About Abdul Rahman Azam
Abdul Rahman Azam studies Artificial Intelligence at FAST NUCES (National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences) in Karachi. Alongside his degree he builds AI products, teaches, and runs student communities — and in July 2026 he founded AI Season to teach AI agents live, in Urdu and English, at a price students can afford. He leads every AI Season cohort himself.
Why he started AI Season
Most AI courses available to students in Pakistan either teach a broad, slow syllabus of classical machine learning or are recorded videos with nobody to answer questions. The skills companies are hiring for now — building agents that use tools, retrieve data, run safely and ship to production — were hard to learn in a structured way, in a language students think in, at a student price. AI Season is his answer: a six-week, live, project-driven bootcamp explained in Urdu with English code.
Teaching and community
- Student teaching assistant, FAST NUCES Karachi — mentored students in object-oriented programming.
- Machine Learning Head, ACM-AI (FAST NUCES) — ran machine-learning mentoring for the student chapter.
- AI Competitions Head, PROCOM — led the AI competitions at FAST's annual computing event.
- Founder, ML Toppers community — a peer community for students learning machine learning.
- Workshops on machine learning, AI agents and blockchain for student societies.
What he builds
His own projects are the kind of systems AI Season teaches students to build:
- FAST Wheels — an AI carpooling assistant on WhatsApp for FAST NUCES students, with a ride-matching engine and multiple bots (Node.js, MongoDB, Gemini, Groq).
- Sir Jee — an AI tutor for MDCAT and ECAT preparation that draws and talks students through problems, built as a three-agent pipeline with Google's Agent Development Kit and Gemini Live.
- CivicLens — AI categorisation and severity scoring for civic complaints, deployed on WhatsApp.
- FastVerse — a real-time 3D multiplayer walkthrough of the FAST Karachi campus.
- Open-source teaching code for every AI Season module — see the free course material.
Hackathons and recognition
He has won more than ten hackathons and competitions, including:
- Winner — Iterate '26 (Salim Habib University)
- Winner — JS Bank Hackathon at PROCOM '26
- Winner — BWAI Hackathon (GDG on Campus, DHA Suffa)
- Winner — AI App Development, Teknofest Karachi '26
- Runner-up — IBA Hackathon (web development)
Teaching approach
Build the raw thing first, then the framework. Students write an agent loop by hand before they use LangGraph, and call a model's API directly before they use LangChain, so the tools never feel like magic. Hard ideas are explained in Urdu; code and vocabulary stay in English so students are ready for real teams. Every session ends with something that runs, and tests decide the top-three refund — so the incentive is to actually learn.
